Tipton County Chamber of Commerce purchases downtown building to serve as new office space

Tipton, IN: The Tipton County Chamber of Commerce has purchased a building in Downtown Tipton, located at 119 W Madison Street, which will serve as its new office space.

“This marks the third building the Chamber has called home and will technically be the fourth office space we have occupied in the last ten years. One of our goals in purchasing the property was to obtain stability in the location of our office,” stated Executive Director Kegan Schmicker. “We are charged with being good stewards of our financial resources by our membership and I believe the investment of a downtown building is a great way to offer office continuity, while allowing us to invest in the county that we represent and diversify our balance sheet to provide sustained financial stability for the years to come.”

The Tipton County Chamber of Commerce has shared office space with another business or organization for several years. This purchase will allow the Tipton County Chamber to occupy one-hundred percent of the available space and allow for the organization to host group meetings and roundtables, when appropriate.

“In recent history, the Chamber has shared space with the former Tipton County Economic Development Organization and most recently Heritage Custom Painting. Both organizations were phenomenal partners to us and we are thankful to them.” Board President Melissa Cunnyngham stated. “However, having our own space now sends a message to our membership that we are ready to take some big steps as an organization to ensure we are offering a more value-rich membership.”

Plans are underway to transition from the existing office at 114 S Main Street to the new space at 119 W Madison Street. The transition may take a few weeks and further communication will be made when the Tipton County Chamber of Commerce has finalized the move.
